Aside from being the CEO of 1r Agency, Shelly Socol has been an avid collector of emerging artists over the years.
Growing up with father Howard Socol, who was the CEO of Barneys NY, and mother Sharon Socol, an art photographer who published a book called plusonebook; from a young age, Shelly has been surrounded by her family’s art collection and the fashion world.

Shelly started collecting in her early 20’s after graduating from Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem, Israel where she studied fine arts with a focus on performance art, drawing, sculpture and photograhpy.
Shelly's art collection includes pieces from The Starn Brothers, Sara Cwyner, Antonia Kuo, Ben Tong, David Gilbert, Rafaël Rozendaal, Elliot & Erick Jimenez, Diane Arbus, Bruce Davidson, Nan Goldin, Simmons & Burke, Louise Bourgeois, Sebastian Rug, Lea Avital, and Gustavo Sagorsky, just to name a few.

Most recently Shelly started to work with Maria Vogel, Art Advisor and Founder of Rococo Art Advisory.
During Frieze NYC, at her SOHO loft, Shelly hosted Rococinco, the third installment of a dinner party series curated by Vogel’s art advisory firm.
Ensconced in the artistry of her collection, guests savored a gastronomic story, with each course paying homage to artists HyeGyeong Choi, Devin N. Morris, Madeline Peckenpaugh, Bony Ramirez, and Kenny Rivero.
Five dishes envisioned by the force that is Maryah Ananda, drinks by Rasāsvāda™︎, and dishware by Jono Pandolfi Designs.
AND a Leatherology wallet debossed with an original Kenny Rivero (@champaint_papi) drawing filled the tables with energy and warmth.
The Rococinco dinner’s have been featured in: Artnet (x2), Cultured Magazine and Nylon Magazine.
What Shelly loves and supports so much about Maria’s approach is the evenings are inspired by each of the artists’ practices with intimacy, approachability, energy and warmth.
